Pigeon creative director Mr Mickey Gibbons and Mr Krent Able man the wheels of steel.

Our hosts for the evening and for the exhibition itself, Orbital Comics. The show runs till September 17. Be sure to pop in (address below).

Pencil-drawn panels from Paul O’Connell & Lawrence Elwick excellent Charlie Parker ‘Handyman’ series.

Pigeon strip writer Mr Babak Ganjei, also of the bands Wet Paint and Absentee, performs a few songs, seemingly to the wall.

And here’s Babak in front of artwork he’s done for us over the years, like this and this

Pencil roughs and inked finals of Ye Players done by the Moochowski boys, Tom Brass and Lindsay Pollock — some of the first comics we ever ran. Good news, pop pickers: Moochowski are set to make a dramatic return to our pages in the new issue.

Mr Richard Cowdry in front of graphite and coloured pencil sketches for his Down Town strips.

Comics nerds and music boffins rub shoulders at the party. That’s Mr Oswin Tickler’s noggin bottom right. He helped set up the show and we’re very thankful.

Pen and ink on paper A3 artwork for Mr Krent Able’s Surf’s Up. See the finished, coloured strip here.

Mr Mickey Gibbons shows off a number of his funnies from the paper.

The calm before the storm. The exhibition itself.
