Philly rocker preps 'So Outta Reach' EP, puts track up for free download
Kurt Vile is gearing up to release a new EP, ‘So Outta Reach’, on November 7 via Matador. The Philly rocker’s latest will comprise five previously unreleased tracks recorded during the sessions for Smoke Ring For My Halo, reworked with producer John Agnello this summer, and a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Downbound Train’.
On the same day Matador will release a 2-CD deluxe version of Smoke Ring For My Halo, which will come housed in a spanking new sleeve and feature the EP on a second disc. You can download a track from the EP, ‘The Creature’, here. Like any number of other Kurt Vile songs, it sounds like a man with a hole in his chest groping around in the dark for his heart.
The track-listing for the ‘So Outta Reach’ is as follows:
1. The Creature
2. It’s Alright
3. Life’s A Beach
4. Laughing Stock
5. Downbound Train
6. (so outta reach)
