93 FEET East is to close after a police crackdown led local authorities to revoke its licence.

The Shoreditch venue was raided by 175 officers in December as part of Operation Condor, a clampdown on licensing infringements across the city.

Ten people were arrested in the sting, including two for possession with intent to supply, and one illegal immigrant — the poor fucker. You can watch the whole farrago unfold, Benny Hill-style, below.

The club temporarily suspended operations in the wake of the arrests, and will now close its doors for good as the law comes down hard on offending venues.

And lookout! Here’s the deputy mayor of Tower Hamlets, Clir Ohid Ahmed, tooting on his horn in the Evening Standard:

“The decision on 93 Feet East’s licence demonstrates that we are prepared to take swift and decisive action if bars are found to be allowing drug dealing and drug misuse,” he said.

“Through continued partnership working between the council and police, including the dealer a day initiative, we will continue to go the extra mile to tackle drug dealing in our community.”

RIP to a venue that was a good friend to The Stool Pigeon. It was one our of first stockists, and we threw a killer free party there back in 2007.
