AZEALIA Banks’ debut record has been announced for September.

The Harlem rapper — who performed at Brixton Academy this weekend as part of the NME Awards Show series, review shortly to be tendered — has revealed the record will be called Broke With Expensive Taste.

Says Banks, who will support the album with an 11-date UK tour in the autumn:

“The [record’s] theme is a young girl trying to find it.”

Find what? “Success! Herself! Her path! The young girl trying to make it! That girl who’s at the end of her childhood trying to get a job and make some money, you know? She needs to get what she can get! She needs to go out there and show people she knows how to work for it.”

The album will be preceded by an EP, ‘212’, via Polydor on March 25.
