This year’s event has been moved to the Funkirk Estate, Carleton (three miles out of Skipton) after serious flooding forced organisers to cancel last year’s bash. The good news is that the new site is reportedly even easier on the eye than the last, and pretty much unfloodable to boot.

Say the organisers: “Last year, due to extreme flooding, Health and Safety Executives made the decision to cancel Beacons Festival. We were devastated to have to cancel your party but were left with no choice. This year, we have moved the site away from any potential flood areas, still in the fantastic setting of Carleton. The new location is even more picturesque than the previous site and we feel it can only enhance people’s experience of what will be a truly amazing festival.”

With a main stage presented in association with yours truly, plus a cinema programme, children’s entertainment, spoken word, theatre and dance bill yet to be announced, this promises to be a fun weekend getting trolleyed in some of the finest surrounds the North has to offer.

Tickets are available to purchase from the Beacons festival website, Seetickets, HMV, Gigantic, Leedstickets.com, Jumbo Records and Crash Records. See you down there!
