News: Ed Sheeran
'Best British male' set to blow up at SXSW, in terms of popularity

AFTER his success at the Brit Awards, winning best British male solo act and best breakthrough act, Ed Sheeran is now tipped to be the UK’s biggest export at this year’s SXSW festival.
According to music data analytics company Musicmetric, their number-crunching boffins have drawn up some rather fancy graphs for SXSW 2012, detailing fan activity, torrents and web buzz for artists in this year’s line-up. New Zealand’s Kimbra tops the list, with Ed Sheeran second and The Fray third.
With his breakthrough hit ‘The A Team’ still loitering around the charts nine months after it was first released, his 1m selling debut album + has kept him commercially in check with his platinum-pop luminaries. And now, according to these ‘infographics’ of internet hyperbole and bibble, Ed Sheeran is going to be straight-repping the UK music scene.
Brilliant. Just fucking brilliant.
Since his performance at last year’s SXSW, Skrillex has been the biggest online growth with 5.4m new fans.
