Odd Future crooner comes out as bisexual in letter posted to his Tumblr

FRANK Ocean writes about coming to terms with his sexuality in a letter published on his Tumblr account yesterday.
The New Orleans-born musician was originally to include the letter in the sleeve notes to his debut album, Channel Orange, due later this month, but chose to come out now in order to address rumours which have been circulating since some new tracks were posted online.
Before uploading the missive, Ocean wrote: “we’re all a bunch of golden million dollar babies. my hope is that the babies born these days will inherit less of the bullshit than we did. anyhow, what i’m about to post is for anyone who cares to read. it was intended to fill the thank you’s section in my album credits, but with all the rumors going round.. i figured it’d be good to clarify.”
The letter itself avoids direct reference to Frank’s sexual orientation, though his official website reports, one presumes correctly, that he is in fact bisexual. Ocean writes: “I reminisced about the sentimental songs I enjoyed when I was a teenager… The ones I played when I experienced a girlfriend for the first time. I realized they were written in a language I did not yet speak. I realized too much, too quickly. Imagine being thrown from a plane. I wasn’t in a plane though. I was in a Nissan Maxima, the same car I packed up with bags and moved to Los Angeles in.”
Odd Future cohort Tyler, The Creator tweeted in support of Frank’s statement: “My Big Brother Finally Fucking Did That. Proud Of That Nigga Cause I Know That Shit Is Difficult Or Whatever. Anyway. Im A Toilet.”
