Contrary to recent reports, Jay-Z won’t be making a stand and dropping the word ‘bitch’ from his performances since becoming the father of his daughter, Blue Ivy.

Last week a poem circulated the web, saying: “I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I lived it now with my daughter in this world I curse those that give it.” Turns out it was all a ‘hilarious’ wheeze by a lyrical blogging prankster, and not from the man himself.

In Jay-Z-actually-getting-rid-of-something news, Rocawear, the clothing line he launched with Damon Dash, has ditched half its staff (28 employees) from the men and boys department for “economic” reasons. The brand was sold off in 2007, but Jay-Z still held a stake in the company, with insiders blaming his lack of commitment to promoting Rocawear for its financial woes.

“Jay-Z doesn’t do anything without getting paid a lot of money — a lot more than Rocawear is generating,” one insider told the New York Post. 28 members of staff were sacked the day before Blue Ivy Carter was born.
