There are few finer pleasures in this world than hearing Tom Waits perform, but hearing Tom Waits speak runs it pretty damn close — and here the Rain Dogs man does plenty of the latter with a guest presenter slot on Australia’s Daily Planet radio show.

The folk and blues legend holds forth on a number of topics including his favourite recording ever, why Bob Dylan is a ‘country to be explored’ and how our brains will get smaller as computers get bigger.

In between the chit chat, Tom finds time to drop a number of tracks from Otis Redding, William Burroughs(!), Alex Chilton, Elvis Presley and Smokey Robinson And The Miracles — fine company to find yourself in of a Thursday morning.
