YOUTUBE footage, posted by the Met, has emerged of 175 police officers swooping on London’s 93 Feet East venue last Friday (Dec 7) as part of a massive crackdown on premises flouting licensing laws.

Operation Condor saw nearly 6,000 premises across the capital raided over the weekend, with a total of 297 people arrested for offences including theft, immigration breaches, public order offences, possession of Class A and Class B drugs and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

The sting on 93 Feet East, in Shoreditch, East London, was one of the biggest of the entire operation; with 175 officers including helicopter and dog units deployed to the premises after police received reports of dealers selling Class A drugs.

To which the only sensible response is: where were the US Marshalls in all of this? But hey ho, at least the Met’s efforts weren’t in vain, or were they? A grand total of nine people were nicked during the raid, including two for possession of drugs with intent to supply and one who was, well, an illegal immigrant.

To clarify: that’s 20 officers and 1/9th of a helicopter per arrest.

Meanwhile, Twitter user @bonersaurjr suggests a great way to enjoy the footage, which you can watch below:

“Watching the 93 Feet East footage with the Benny Hill theme tune playing as the police storm the place,” he writes.
