George Lewis Jr has written a novel. Let's have a look at his writing, eh?
“THEY say that Georgie survived the flash encased in crystallized liquid that had leaked out of the heart of the moon, a new life frozen as if nature had kept him safe to rebuild the world.”
Not our words, sadly, but George Lewis Jr’s — yep, the Twin Shadow frontman has written a novel called The Night Of The Silver Sun, and this is but a tiny sample of his learned rock star prose.
Details on the plot are sketchy, but Twin Shadow’s recent ‘Five Seconds’ video reportedly has to do with it. Lewis Jr told Pitchfork: “It’s about a motorcycle gang in the future. The video is the prologue to the story, and it’s about friendship, in a way; two black motorcyclists who are fighting the good fight.”
Here are a few more sentences to spill from the retro-rocker’s pen. To be honest, we don’t know WTF he is on about:
“When the Edwards family woke up to a re-terraformed, terrified Earth, the baby was still at the front of her mind even though thousands of years had passed.”
“My baby, my love, God has kept you wrapped in a diamond and now you will be my child.”
“I was born before the silver sun hit, but I can’t remember what it was like when the nights were just half the day and there were waves on the water. I can’t remember the moon.”
