Genius internet trolling results in naff rapper Pitbull being sent to... Alaska
IT looks as if Pitbull has been sent to Kodiak, Alaska. No, he hasn’t been forced into exile for his heinous club rap, he’s making the trip to visit the local Walmart.
A few weeks back we reported that pranksters David Thorpe and Jon Hendren from comedy website Something Awful tried to rig a Walmart competition in which people could vote for the branch they most wanted to Pitbull to visit. A branch on a remote archipelago near the Arctic seemed like the perfect place to send the man.
Thanks to the fine work of Thorpe’s Twitter followers and Reddit readers alike, the votes have totalled up to 70,000, enough to send Pitbull to the pole.
In a video confirming the store as the dubious winners of the competition, the airbrushed facial-haired tit seemed convinced that the votes came from an unexpected Alaskan fanbase. Thorpe has also been asked to accompany him, although according to his Twitter the “invitation does not include any travel expenses. Consider it his way to push some press in your direction to build your own brand”. Trip of a lifetime, eh?
