Nine Inch Nails frontman announces major label deal, EP for his new side-project

TRENT Reznor has announced that his side-project How to Destroy Angels has signed a deal with Columbia records and will release an EP in November.
In a Facebook post, Reznor explained the decision to return to a major after his recent independent releases and acrimonious split from Interscope records. “Regarding our decision to sign with Columbia, we’ve really spent a long time thinking about things and it makes sense for a lot of reasons, including a chance to work with our old friend Mark Williams. There’s a much more granular and rambling answer I could give (and likely will in an interview someplace) but it really comes down to us experimenting and trying new things to see what best serves our needs. Complete independent releasing has its great points but also comes with shortcomings,” wrote Reznor.
The band, whose members also include Reznor’s wife Mariqueen Maandig and frequent collaborator Atticus Ross, will release An Omen on November 13 digitally and on vinyl.
