'Butt rock' band frontman Jacoby Shaddix sends out flowers to haters Wye Oak
WHEN Jenn Wasner of indie folksters Wye Oak named Papa Roach’s nu-metal ballad ‘Scar’ as her most hated record for a feature on The AV Club, she probably wasn’t expecting a courteous response.
“When I heard this song for the first time, it sounded like ‘Butt Rock Band Goes To Therapy And Picks Up A Few Therapy Buzz Phrases And Then Writes a Song’. It was also like ‘Singer Of Said Butt Rock Band Discovers What A Metaphor Is’,” Wasner explained.
Word of Wasner badmouthing the, admittedly atrocious, track got out to Roach, and to her surprise, the singer received a bouquet of flowers signed by none other than frontman Jacoby Shaddix himself.
Confirming that it was indeed him, Shaddix tweeted, “Those are some pretty flowers! Haha all good girl… Take care and good luck in this crazy biz we call show! Jacoby”.
